School Board

A parish's Board of Education performs a valuable function in allowing a pastor to draw upon the expertise and knowledge of skilled professionals in forming policies for the school. By sharing of their gifts, the board members are empowered with the sense that they are making a significant contribution. Once policies have been developed, the responsibility for enacting them and accomplishing their goals transfers to the administration of the school.
The School Board meets the second Wednesday of every month. If you would like something to be addressed by the board, please send your request to at least one week ahead of time. Similarly, if you would like to address the board in person, please make your request a week in advance.
Saint Joseph School is privileged to have the following members serving on the Board of Education for the 2021-2022 academic year:

Matthew Hrdlicka | Elected 03/2018 (2 yrs.)

Term 1 | Barnhart, MO

Matt and wife Kara have been members of St. Joseph Parish since 2007. Their son graduated from SJS and they have two daughters still attending. Matt and Kara have owned and operated their own company, Excel Signs and Design, since 2011. Previously, Matt held positions with Anheuser-Busch Inc., Enterprise Rent A Car and Sinclair & Rush.
Matt feels lucky to have been a soccer coach at St Joseph for more than ten years.

Jennifer Wallis | Elected 03/2018 (3 yrs.)

Term 1 | Imperial, MO

Jennifer received a Catholic education in grades K-12. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Maryville University, where she double majored in psychology and sociology. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Saint Louis University, where her area of concentration was children and family.

Jennifer is a school social worker for the Fox C-6 School District. She also teaches adjunct in the sociology department at Jefferson College and for the social work department at Fontbonne University. 


Mandy Dugal | Elected 04/2019 (3 yrs.)

Term 1 | Imperial, MO

Mandy and her husband Jake have been members of St. Joseph Parish since 2016.  They have a daughter Ava, who is currently enrolled at SJS.  Mandy is the Internal Accountant and Human Resources Manager for her family's Excavating Company.
In her free time, she is actively involved in the school and parish.  Mandy is a Girl Scout Troop Leader and a member of the Family Fest planning committee.

Aaron Mathis | Elected 03/2018 (3 yrs.)

Term 1 | Pevely, MO

Aaron received his Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Management from Missouri State University in 2003. He joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2004, and is an Assistant Vice President/Operations Manager. He grew up in the Barnhart area and is a life-long member of St. Joseph parish. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Aaron and his wife Wendy have a daughter, Haley, a student at SJS. In his free time, Aaron enjoys cheering for Haley and her team as they play CYC sports.


Crystal Pierce | Elected 04/2019 (3 yrs.)

Term 1 | Pevely, MO

Crystal and her husband, Erka, have 3 children. Twin girls, Enkhriimaa and Eveelmaa, are in Kindergarten and son, Ashidbayar, is just beginning the Pre-K3.
After earning her Master's of Special Education from the University of Missouri- St. Louis in 2010, Crystal accepted an invitation to serve with the United States Peace Corps in Mongolia as a Community Youth Development Volunteer. There she met her husband, and they returned home in 2012 to start their family.
Crystal is currently a Special Education teacher at Hillsboro High School. She is also a proud member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Joseph, as well as a judo instructor at Konjo Dojo Judo Club in Imperial. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.



Mr. Matthew Schutte | Elected 03/2018 (3 yrs.)

Term 1 | Pevely, MO

Matt has been a parish member since 1998. He and his wife Ellen have one daughter enrolled at SJS. He started as Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management at St. Pius X High School in June 2017, following twenty-one years of experience in higher education enrollment management, including eight years as Assistant Director of Admissions at Saint Louis University and various roles up to Associate Director of Admissions in 11 years at Webster University.
Matt's involvement at Saint Joseph includes serving on the Enrollment Management Committee in 2016-17 and coaching girls' basketball. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in English from Illinois State University; a Master of Arts in Communications/Public Relations from Webster University, and is currently writing a dissertation for his PhD in Higher Education Administration from Saint Louis University.


Jason Zueck | Elected 04/2019 (3 yrs.)

Term 1 | Arnold, MO

Jason and his wife Kristy have four children together and have been members of the Saint Joseph School community for the last nine years. Their oldest son graduated in 2019 and their youngest son is in kindergarten. Jason holds both a BSN and an MSN from SIUE and is currently employed at Washington University St. Louis in the Department of Anesthesiology as a Nurse Anesthetist. He is a retired US Army Captain from the Reserve Medical Corps who served three overseas tours of duty. Additionally, Jason volunteers to help coach his sons' sports teams. Through his work and volunteer experience, he feels that he has developed leadership skills that will serve him well in representing the parish at the school board level.

Marissa Streitz, LCSW | Elected 2020 (3 yrs.)

Term 1 | Arnold, MO

Marissa Streitz, MSW, LCSW is a clinical research coordinator at the Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the Washington University School of Medicine and brings 10 years of social work experience to the school board. Marissa has published scientific articles in journals such as Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association and Patient Education and Counseling. Her hobbies include designing and sewing dresses, teaching 4th grade PSR at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro, and spending time with her three nephews. She and her husband, Patrick, live in Arnold with their daughter, Anna, and their Australian Shepherd, Wyatt.
