In 2001 we enrolled our eldest daughter in kindergarten at Saint Joseph School. At that time the finishing touches were being completed on the school and gymnasium expansion. We were excited about the expanding Parish, the growth in the school enrollment, and finding a spiritual home for our family. Over the next 17 years we have had at least 1 child continuously enrolled at St. Joseph’s, with our last preparing for 8th grade graduation this coming May.
It is ironic and heartening to see Parish growth and expansion continue – almost two decades after we joined St. Joseph. There have been many changes. What has not changed over these years is the dedication of providing our children with a quality Catholic education. The names and faces of our principals and teachers have changed over time, but the consistent reinforcement of our Catholic faith in our children has been an unwavering constant. There is no substitute for that level of spiritual involvement.
The tuition has been a great investment given the values our children have learned and will continue to carry with them throughout their lives.R. E.
Four years ago when we were looking for a school for our second grader, Saint Joseph School was at the top of our list.
We liked the small-school feel where faculty and staff would know our children by name. In today’s world we also felt that a faith-based education would give our children guidance in an otherwise crazy world. We’ve built lasting friendships with some amazing families and we always feel a sense of belonging each time we visit the parish campus.
I am a 1994 graduate of SJS. At the time I attended, the campus was located in Kimmswick. The current campus is state-of-the-art compared to the school I attended, and the growth is a testament to the families involved at SJS. One thing I remember is the privilege to have been able to work with Sr. Christine herself at the food pantry. We used to move canned goods from the convent basement over to the food pantry and she would thank us with chocolate candy bars. I would recommend Saint Joseph School to anyone who asked; I feel my kids are receiving a quality faith-based education, provided by people who truly care about them.
As parents, we have watched our child progress from kindergarten to eighth grade at Saint Joseph School.
From our observations, we feel confident that our son has been given an outstanding faith-based education that has prepared him well for any St. Louis high school.
SJS has offered him ample opportunities to grow in leadership and academics. A few of these opportunities include robotics, musical performances, student ambassador, National Junior Honor Society, yearbook, student council, and advanced class placements. During all of these opportunities, we have witnessed the faculty and staff take a vested interest in developing his character and communicating with us, as parents, his trials and triumphs.
It has truly been an exceptional academic experience that we are excited to continue with our younger children.

We are so happy with the education our daughter is receiving at Saint Joseph School. Her academic and spiritual growth combined with a host of extracurricular activities is helping her develop into a well-rounded young lady.
We are also impressed with the staff longevity—our sixth grader still sees each of her teachers from kindergarten through fifth grade on campus.
It shows us that the teachers are fully committed to the school and the students.
