Additionally, we have about 90 additional chromebooks available for teachers to sign-out and use as needed.
Students do not bring their own devices to school. We provide any technology that they need to use while at school.

Mass Attendance

All of our students attend mass twice per week. We offer two separate grade level masses (one for Pre-K through 3rd and one for 4th-8th). We also offer one All School Mass per week. Our Little Friends students join masses once their teachers decide that they are ready to attend. Special school mass celebrations, such as buddy masses which pair older and younger students, occur throughout the year.
Non-Catholic students are happily welcomed to St. Joseph with the understanding that they will participate in mass celebrations and religion classes.

Sacraments

Students in 2nd Grade prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Students in 7th Grade prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We will assist you if you or your child needs or wants to receive the Sacrament of Baptism.

Home & School Association

All parents are automatically members of HSA upon registering for school. HSA charges an annual fee which is paid in two installments at the beginning of the school year. This fee covers things like class parties, field trips, activities, and more.
Parental support and volunteerism strengthens the school community, and we believe that it builds morale and spirit among the entire school community. Welcome!

Guidelines for Shadowing

When considering joining St. Joseph School, we highly recommend that families tour the school to see our campus and hear about our mission. Additionally, participating in a shadow day allows prospective students to meet current students, participate in classes, and experience the opportunities that we offer.

A shadow day may be scheduled by calling the school and making an appointment with the Admissions and Marketing Coordinator. We will do our best to accommodate visiting families' schedules, while also making sure that the visit aligns well with the activities at school on that day.

The students in Grades Pre-K through Kindergarten may attend for about one hour to meet the students in their classroom and become familiar with what happens at that level. Students in Grades 1-3 may stay for one-half day to familiarize themselves with the school and the students, while students in Grades 4-8 may remain for an entire day to have the full classroom experience.

A visiting student may wear his/her school uniforms or appropriate school attire for visiting days. We request that students not wear jeans, sweatpants, or shorts, or inappropriate shirts or blouses. No apparel with offensive logos will be permitted.

On the shadow day, students may arrive at school at 7:40 a.m. The student and parent should check-in at the school office. A pick-up time will be pre-arranged for younger students depending on the grade's schedule for the day. For students in Grades 4-8 that participate in the full-day shadow experience, lunch can be brought to school or purchased in the cafeteria. Parents should plan on picking up their child at 2:20 p.m. and plan to participate together in a short interview with the administration to review the day and discuss potential next steps.

Students in Grades 2-8 are asked to bring a report card and any  recent stardardized assessments. Any information that can make the transition and acceptance easier is welcomed.

Students do not need to bring anything with them for the day, including books to read or homework to do. We will provide any necessary materials. Please do not bring anything of value such as a computer or iPad. We feel these would be a distraction and hinder the social experience of the visit.
